The wonderful kz
http://theeclecticeccentricshopaholic.wordpress.com/about/
gave me a Christmas present by nominating me for:
The Shine On Award
and
The Versatile Blogger Award
Thank you so much kz. I’m still amazed that all these awards are coming my way. I love my blog, but I really appreciate finding out others do too.
Check out kz’s blog. It’s about much more than fashion and shopping. Actually there’s very little about fashion and shopping. If she’s really a shopaholic you couldn’t prove it by her blog. What she is, is a gifted writer – of haiku, of short stories, of poetry. I’m just waiting for the novel.
I’m supposed to post seven interesting things about myself. Seven! I guess it might be interesting that:
1. Whenever my body is not feeling comfortable in any way I send love and gratitude to it over and over.
2. One day several years ago I started saying to myself over and over “what if this is enough?” – referring to whatever my life looked like in the moment. Next thing I knew I spontaneously quit smoking, without even giving it a thought.
3. I once, briefly, had a direct experience of being outside of, and looking down on, the body so I know there’s more to being than just this life.
4. Even though I live it as my life, I don’t really think it is my life. I think we’re all “being done” – by life itself.
5. The thing I’m most grateful for is that I’ve learned how to be grateful.
6. I think life is a dream being dreamed by no-one, and that no-one is infinitely and eternally aware.
7. I spent years living in a little cabin in the far north west of Canada, and cooking during the summers in wilderness hunting and gold mining camps.

Yes, it’s a good one isn’t it. I was sick of irrational discontent so just kept challenging the mind with that question. It was quite liberating.
The award is yours too now – to pass on as you see fit. So congratulations to you too!

Allison,
I am so honored that you chose everydaygurus to share these awards. The other bloggers on the list are some of my favorites.
More importantly, your list of seven interesting things took my breath away. I want to reblog this, but it would seem too self-serving since I am nominated for the awards. I was wondering if I could cut and paste your seven interesting things and put it in a post on everydaygurus. I would put a link back to your blog, of course. Let me know if you are ok with that.
Thank you again, and congratulations. You are some kind of unique. {{{{Hugs}}}} Kozo

Thank you so much, Allison, for this honor. After reading what you wrote, the seven interesting things about yourself, I’m sitting here feeling the vastness of all that is, interconnectedness–like leaves breathing in carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen. I have also visited all the sites above and my heart feels fuller from coming across these lovely shining lights. Big cyber hug to you. Paulette

I’m just getting my feet wet in connecting with the blogging world, but it has led me to some wonderful sites and some wonderful people. Blessed by the connections.
As for the vastness, the interconnectedness, it’s breathtaking at times. Thank you for saying that, it helped me remember, and feel it. Big hug back.

Hi Alison,
I regret not having read this post earlier. Thank you very much for the nomination. I am very honored to be part of your list of 10.
Like you I am so blessed by the vastness and interconnectedness of the blogosphere, though these are my initial steps into this “other” universe so I am still exploring which path I should take and how I can pick up the most from every foray into other people’s worlds.
Congratulations on your awards! Your life, as you blog it, is a dream, a vantage point that moves from one corner of the world to the next and it’s just breathtaking to imagine how much of this vastness we can all weave into our own lives, into our own tales, if we make it a point to venture out of our comfort zones and release ourselves from our mundane, limiting attachments.
Kudos to your blog’s co-creator Don, too.

Oh and, Alison, checked out some of the blogs you also nominated. Do I need to write a post about this honor, make my own list of nominees to officially accept my nomination. Do these blogging award-giving bodies have a site I can visit? Thank you.
