I know I know, it’s spring where I live and I’m posting about autumn! Last autumn I was posting about spring in Japan, and summer on Vancouver Island. Always backwards it seems. So this is for all my family and friends and followers in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America, where it is autumn now; and for the people in all those countries that never have autumn no matter what time of the year it is; and for all the people who simply enjoy the beauty of autumn. Okay, I really just wanted to share these photos, and I’m only now getting around to it.

And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves.
Virginia Woolf

Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.
F. Scott Fitzgerald

Dancing of the autumn leaves on a surface of a lake is a dream we see when we are awake.
Mehmet Murat Idles

In fact, I bet everyone feels that goodbye feeling in autumn, especially. Autumn is the sad season, but once there’s a true sadness within you, autumn will sing it soft and slow in your heart. It’s because of the turning. In that last blaze of red, in the biting air and the slow drift and fall of leaves, you see the slight farewell that life is always repeating.
Martine Murray

A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.
Elizabeth Lawrence

The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let the dead things go.

Fall has always been my favourite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.
Lauren Destefano

How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and colour are their last days.
John Burrows

Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day.
Shira Tamir

Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower.
Albert Camus

It was a beautiful, bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.
Diana Gabaldon

Autumn . . . the year’s last loveliest smile.
William Cullen Bryant

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.
Jim Bishop
