Thank you so much Pam. It was fun to put this article together – it made me realize even more that places in Australia that I take for granted because I grew up there are rarely seen by visitors, especially Canberra, and Canberra’s coast. And who’s ever heard of the Tingle trees?!

You’re becoming quite the author these days. Is this blog only for Australia? I think they should make a hotel out of that hut at the top of the trees! I’d rent it. I was a little disappointed I couldn’t make the photo larger. When you post like this, do you not put the post on your blog (later, or some time)?

Thanks BF. Oh dear, I’ve written so much about Oz that you think this blog has become only about that. Yikes. Better change the subject! Next post – Hawaii, the one after, a poem about Life, then a post about Sweden, then Turkey, Jordan and Egypt! No more about Oz for a long time I promise.
That hut at the top of the tree is only about 10×10 – a bit small for a hotel, but with a little imagination and expansion you could be on to something. I’ve seen some beautiful hotel tree houses, just not that high up. Here is the link to the photo on this blog so you can see the photo of the hut larger
And finally, no, this post does not go onto my blog. It was written specifically for Retirement and Good Living, and everything in it has already been covered here in one post or another, and in some cases in more detail. If you’re interested I can give you the links.

No, no. I was referring to the Retirement and Living Blog… IT being only Australian. I wondered if they only wanted stories about OZ, or written by Ozzies. You certainly do not have too many posts about Oz, or any place!! And anyway, it’s a big country, one could write forever about it and not run out of stuff to write about…like take just snakes for instance, you could write a book about them.
I liked the post on Uluru and Kata Tjuta…but it was written before I knew you, or after, but before I started actually following, I think. Very cool. Last time I was there, it rained, and water came pouring off those rocks, which cause those indentations. But I couldn’t get a good shot.

You *could* write a whole book about Aussie snakes! Many people have.
The post about Uluru and KataTjuta was written long before we met. It’s very close to being one of the first posts ever, back before I learned to write better or knew anything about photography 🙂
I bet that whole area is amazing in the rain!

Oz…right, I think I was thinking “mozzies.” Oh, but wait. I just looked it up, this is what the urban dictionary says: An Ozzie or (Aussie) is an Australian slang term to name themselves, often used in chants on Australia day “Ozzie ozzie ozzie” “oi oi oi”
where are you from?
im a bloody Ozzie mate!
But can you trust everything you find online?
anyway…yeah, the rain made it even more magical…if that is possible

I’ve done that chant from time to time 🙂
I don’t know that I’ve ever heard it chanted on Australia Day, but I’ve heard it many times at international sports events. It’s *the* Ozzie chant!

HOWEVER, if you go on Wikipedia, they write it as Aussie, Aussie, Aussie…not Ozzie. So who knows. They sound alike when they’re not written on a page…

I have a craze for photography and so this post of yours with extraordinary photos leaves me spellbound! The wonderful landscape and the wildlife of this place tempts me to plan my trip soon and capture the beauty under my lenses.
